Devil Eyes have been carving their name into the underbelly of Montreal's rock scene since early 2006. Their self-titled full length album is the result of a year of experimentation with the DNA of garage, punk, noise, Japanese hardcore, swamp blues and psychedelia. The album is an intense collection, setting a restless and frenetic pace as they strip the songs down to the bone and deliver them raw on a charging freight train that burns through in just under 30 minutes. The 9 songs cover a lot of territory while turning riffs inside out, each song hooking you in different ways.

Hot on the heels of their sold out debut 7" single, The Nymphets have whipped up another three relentless tracks all clocking under the two minute mark... as every good punk song should be.

Formed in Montreal back in 2004 and having since relocated to Brooklyn, the trio's frantic live sets and their late 70's /early 80's British punk sound have blown away audiences across Canada, Europe and the U.S. in support of Jay Retard, Fucked Up, Night Marchers, CPC Gangbangs, The Death Set and Wooden Shjips.

Their twangy "pop punk" is a direct descendent of the melodic sensibilities of the Undertones and Buzzcocks, the incessant drive of the Ramones, the trashiness of Supercharger along with the unadulterated geekiness that they call their own. Their latest installment brings forth two brand new songs and a fiery take on The Troggs classic "With A Girl Like You", guaranteed to make you flip this single over again and again, and again. This vinyl slab is limited to 500 copies only!

"Failed Musician" is the exciting, electric and eclectic debut album by four extremely talented, creative and versatile musicians with over 25 years of experience in a wide range of projects. It is a unique and vibrant mix of genre blending and bending, irreverent humor, musical chops not interfering with total abandon, and a healthy dose of disregard for current trends. Informed by avant garde elements and a fair amount of improvisation and experimentation, it still rocks like a motherfucker! The band's wide variety of original songs dip into the realms of jazz, punk, klezmer, metal, improv, blues, noise, Motown, classic rock, surf and country yet always come out in the distinctive Nutsak sound.

The album was recorded by Jace Lacek at Breakglass Studios in Montréal in the summer of 2007 and was mastered by Harris Newman at Grey Market.

The bulk of the record is comprised of 5 original instrumental tunes composed by guitarist Sam Shalabi (Shalabi Effect, Land Of Kush, Detention, Ballet Mécanique): the Al Green inspired, toe tapping, smile inducing opener "Baby Drools Diamonds", the klezmer/thrash "Cossak", the Mingusian "May/September Blur Blues", the be-bop beyond rock "Balzac", and the off the rails, pummelling A side of the band's first single "You Are Going to Prison". Two more originals are provided by guitarist and singer Chris Burns (Ratchet Orchestra, Terminal Sunglasses): the bossa nova punker (that revels in rock and roll as a euphemism for fornication) "Innuendo Shminnuendo", and the

B-side to the aforementioned single, the Motorhead and Shoulders tinged "Last Train to Nutsak, New Jersey", which features the entire band plus Jace Lacek (Besnard Lakes) on backing vocals. Drummer and singer Howard Chackowicz (CBC radio's Wiretap, American Devices) offers the filthy "They Fucked Good Tonight" (a solid rocker about a live sex show) and the misanthropic negative creep with a Tony Bennett wink slow swinger "I Hate Everything". Bassist André Asselin is responsible for the album's most laid back moment, the jazzy, psychedelic tinged wonky pop ballad "Filets D'Harengs Fumés". The rest is rounded out by two covers: the Willie Dixon penned "Hidden Charms" that has Chris Burns delivering an inappropriately aggressive vocal, and the Rodgers and Hammerstein nugget from The Sound of Music, "My Favorite Things", which one listener described as "John Coltrane meets Sonic Youth".

The debut self-titled single from Nutsak contains two original compositions that illustrate the band's more balls out rockin' qualities. The A-side, "You Are Going to Prison", is a Sam Shalabi instrumental that is fairly indicative of much of the Nutsak sound: a highly energetic, frantic, kinetic and somewhat manic number that has the players all biting into it with wild abandonment while keeping to a tight arrangement that includes a completely improvised free section thrown in for good measure. The B-side is the Chris Burns penned "Last Train To Nutsak, NJ". While its title pays hommage to The Monkees, the music is more of a wink to Motorhead, particularly in the bridge where Shalabi lets loose some unbelievably scorching solos. It is difficult to resist the invitation of all four Nutsak members calling out "Get on board"!

Fiftywatthead are back with their third and most accomplished album to date "Fogcutter".

Known as one of Canada's heaviest bands, the Windsor, Ontario four-piece have put together a merciless eight song monolith of a record that Signed By Force could not resist. The album captures the legendary volume and sheer intensity of their live shows without compromise and proves that they are in fact Canada's answer to Neurosis.

Although "Fogcutter" is also the name of a rum based Tiki drink, this is not something that would remind you of bamboo, Hawaiian shirts or colored cocktail umbrellas. The album title comes from a kind of boat that could carve its way through even the densest of fog and their music does just that ..... The relentless onslaught of colossal riffs and monumental heaviness storms through what would be the ideal soundtrack for the sinking of the Titanic or the impending doom of the Ancient Mariner.

Their barrage of heavy rock, noise and prog brings on a maelstrom that broadens the horizons of metal and hard rock and puts Fiftywatthead on the map as one of the leaders of Canada's heavy music scene.

A few words about Rough Stuff:

What happens when a quiet librarian writes and records a concept album? Why, you get an album that's all about sex. And not just any kind of sex. Rough Stuff is a brutal, crass and at times hilarious meditation on all things sexual.

There's the mildly self-deprecating pulse of "Beat The Shit Out Of Me", the subtle pleas of "Why Won't You Let Me Fuck You", and the tongue-in-cheek call to arms of "Ass Commando". Other highlights include the satisfying rub 'n' tug trilogy of "Full Release", "GFE", and "She Jerks", and the thoughtful introspection of "Penetrating Insights".

Of course, what concept album would be complete without a pretty ballad? "Uschi" is a touching ode to Russ Meyers muse Uschi Digart. To lend the song the much needed air of reverence that such a super-vixen demands, Paul Aucoin (The Sadies) is featured on vibes.

"Rough Stuff" also features cover artwork and interior illustrations by Jeff Lemire, graphic novelist and winner of the Xeric award and most recently the Yalsa Award (Young Adult Library Services Association) for his graphic novel, Tales From The Farm.

“Black Blood” marks the third instalment in the Bionic discography and is by far their best and most aggressive moment yet. Their new album sees them breaking new ground with their own hard brutalizing mix of punk meets 70's rock with stabs of Devo and psychedelia, while still keeping the explosive, juggernaut intensity that their live shows are renowned for. They've enlisted the musical help of friends in the burgeoning Montreal musical community like Tricky Woo, The Besnard Lakes, Silver Mt. Zion, Land Of Talk, Xavier Caffeine and even a marching band complete with cheerleaders. Make no bones about it, "Black Blood" is as rocking as it gets but still manages to push the envelope and prove that loud rock music can still evolve out of the mire.

Remember when punk rock was still about danger and not about selling shoes? Well, Trigger Effect does. This is no nostalgic sleep walking trip, these Montreal miscreants are equally as committed to incinerating the past as they are about giving the finger to the future. "Dare to ride the Heliocraft" captures the thunderous experience felt at their live shows. The album was recorded in two overnight sessions and is a continuous, eleven song path of destruction. This is not for the faint of heart or for people scared at the sight of blood. Trigger Effect are not trying to sell shoes or even entertain you here, they are trying to obliterate the world one person at a time.

This is chaos, this is danger, this is punk rock!

This is Trigger Effect. It is not a choice but an inevitability.

Available as Digipak CD and limited edition LP with free mp3 download card.

Punk Rock is too small a phrase to contain Starvin Hungry's second album. The band have consumed influences from every era of rock 'n' roll and cooked up something that recalls the highly individualized think punk of early pioneers like the Voidoids, Wire, and The Wipers, as well as the ferocious sexual splatter of the Stooges and Pussy Galore. "Cold Burns" brings something new to the table through the use of alternately tuned guitars and unusual chord changes served on a warm plate of classick hooks. Recorded by the infinitely versatile Jace Lasek of Besnard Lakes fame, "Cold Burns" is the sound of rock n' roll moving backward and forward, like a good fuck should.

Available as Digipak CD and 180 gram vinyl LP.
